Our Story

Blue Brook was founded in 2018 by Rachel Whitmore, a former DWP case worker who saw first-hand how many people were missing out on support simply because the system was too difficult to navigate alone.

After 12 years working within the benefits system, Rachel noticed a troubling pattern: the people who needed help most often struggled the most to get it. Complex forms, confusing eligibility criteria, and an overwhelming number of different schemes meant many simply gave up or never applied in the first place.

What began as Rachel helping neighbours and friends with their applications has grown into a dedicated team serving clients across the United Kingdom. Our mission remains the same: make the benefits system accessible to everyone who needs it.

Blue Brook Founded

Started as a one-person operation from a home office in Bristol, helping local residents with benefit applications.

2019

First Office & Team Expansion

Moved to our Whitmore Street premises and welcomed James and Priya to the team.

2020

Pandemic Response

Helped over 2,000 people navigate emergency support during COVID-19. Launched remote consultation services.

2022

National Reach

Expanded services to cover all of England and Wales. Passed 10,000 successful claims milestone.

Appeals Unit Launch

Established dedicated appeals team to help clients challenge unfair decisions more effectively.
